Prior to her current role, Dr. Plyler served as Assistant Principal at Six Mile Elementary for six years, where she supported faculty through data-driven instructional practices, coordinated testing and transportation systems, led school safety efforts, and facilitated RTI processes for both academics and behavior. She began her career as a classroom teacher at Clemson Elementary, Sangaree Elementary, and West Market School of Early Education.

Dr. Plyler holds a Doctorate of Education from Clemson University, along with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The Citadel and an Education Specialist degree in District Level Leadership from Clemson University. She also holds South Carolina teaching and principal certifications, including a Read to Succeed endorsement. Her leadership experiences include participation in the School District of Pickens County Leadership Cohort, National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) training, and statewide and national professional learning opportunities.

I am honored and excited to serve the Forest Acres Elementary community as principal,” said Dr. Plyler. “Forest Acres is a special place, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and amazing students as we continue building a strong, positive learning environment.”
