Fall Festival Friday

Our students have been studying biotic and abiotic factors in ecosystems. As part of our ecosystem unit, we took a nature walk to look at living and non-living things. The students made notes about the local plant and animal life around the school using what they know about what characteristics or functions all living things have.

We increased from Average to Good in the Student Achievement aspect of the State Report Card from 2022 to 2023 and our overall score increased 3 points. We were just .55 points away from receiving an Excellent rating this year. #dacusvillegrown #growthmindset #wewillbeexcellent2024

After learning about the changing leaves and how leaves fall to the ground, Mrs. Edwards’ class enjoyed going on a nature walk to collect leaves. Then, they used their findings to make a “leaf man.” We are loving the fall season and all the fun it brings!

Mrs. Monroe’s 5th graders scrubbed in to dissect the novel and analyze a character’s thoughts, feelings and actions. Great job Doctors.
