
Miss Cummings’ 4K class released their butterflies today! We ended up having 9 caterpillars transform into butterflies! The kids have patiently enjoyed watching them go through their life cycle and discussing the changes we saw along the way.🦋





4th graders used clues to determine missing information from 8 important Civil War battles.

GT students researched summer Olympics, including locations and events. Students were then challenged to create a mini version of an event using basic classroom supplies. Then, they participated in the mini Summer Olympics, DES style. Needless to say, they had a blast! Make sure you catch some of the 2024 Summer Olympics, Paris, France.

Della Watkins, 5th grader at Dacusville Elementary, was the state 5th grade winner in the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Essay Contest. Essays were judged for historical accuracy, adherence to the topic, organization of materials, interest, originality, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and neatness. We are so excited to welcome our next group of Gold Waves to band next year! Did you miss Instrument Test-Drive night? We have a second one scheduled for Monday, April 29th from 6:00-8:00pm. Drop in and test out all the instruments we teach! There is no prerequisite - all are welcome! If you have any questions, please come talk to Mr. Carpenter, our band teacher. Third graders went on a fossil excavation!




This week 4th and 5th grade students attended Dacusville’s very own skill boot camp! They worked on a variety of Reading and Math skills to earn Mastery Beads for their dog tags! This was an excellent review before State Testing begins for our students next week!











National School Librarian Day was on April 9th. We are so thankful for our Media Specialist, Mrs. Ashley Anderson! She does a great job of providing lots of opportunities for our students to develop a love of reading.
