Principal's Message

Welcome to Forest Acres Elementary School

Greetings, Panther Families!

My name is Dr. Ashley Anderson-Murray. Our students affectionately refer to me as Dr. Murray! It is my honor to lead in SDPC and be acknowledged with this opportunity for my commitment to advocating for children! I am so proud to be a PANTHER! I am forever humbled for the opportunity and blessed to be among likeminded educators in a school community that values RELATIONSHIPS.

Student success will always be at the forefront of my decision-making. Our desire is to see all students succeed at their individual rate of success by promoting RIGOR. The superior work that has been accomplished at Forest Acres Elementary speaks to parents’ dedication to collaborating with the school. By ensuring that learning is RELEVANT, I share your passion to illuminate your child’s potential and foster an inclusive learning environment. I am here to serve with optimism for long-term success with the urgency of all that needs to be done NOW for student growth.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Rashad since 2006. He also serves the community as the Captain of road and patrol with Easley Police Department. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our family. Our greatest assignments are our three children: Ila Raegan, Ian Rashad and Ivy Reign. Two of them are also students at FAE. These littles are our greatest accomplishments!

I received my undergraduate degree from Claflin University in Elementary Education.  I also have a Master’s degree from Furman University in Special Education and my Doctorate from University of Phoenix in Educational Leadership. Most recently, I recertified as a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), which is a distinct and rigorous process for excellence in teaching and learning. I earned my initial certification in 2010.

I have been dedicated to public education in the Upstate since 2005. I am originally from the lower part of the state, the small town of Andrews in Williamsburg County. I have taught grades 2nd through 4th and at the collegiate level in teacher training programs. After ten years in the classroom, my administrative journey began in a neighboring county. I am elated to continue serving at FAE since I began here in 2018. My skills as an educational leader and your knowledge as your child’s first teacher is sure to provide our students with a quality education.

I am committed to work hard alongside our staff to continue the tradition of excellence by building strong relationships with you - our parents, students, and community partners.

In an effort to capture quality teaching and student engagement at Forest Acres, we have launched a social media campaign, with the hashtag #FAExcellence. Please like and follow us on both Facebook and Instagram. Feel free to contact me by email at or by phone 864.397.1800

In service,

Ashley Anderson-Murray, Ed.D.
